Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (1870-1924), better known as Lenin, led the Communists to power in the October Revolution of 1917 and is considered the founder of the Soviet Union.
He was one of the most influential figures of the 20th century and had a great impact not only on the Soviet Union but also on states dependent on it, such as the German Democratic Republic.
This collection includes a commemorative coin from the USSR for Lenin's 100th birthday, a banknote of the Russian Federation from the first series after the fall of the Soviet Union, and a stamp from the Democratic Republic for the 60th anniversary of the Revolution.
Interestingly, the banknote still depicts the national coat of arms of the Soviet Union.
