It was the currency of the Federal Republic of Germany until 31st December 2001. Even before the Day of German Reunification on 3rd October, the Deutsche Mark also became the legal tender in East Germany on 1st July 1990.

This 1 D-Mark coin is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution.
