The Field of the Cloth of Gold Gold-Plated Commemorative

To strengthen the bond between Henry VIII and King Francis I of France a friendly tournament was arranged just off the coast of Calais. The over the top use of a silk woven with gold - 'Cloth of Gold' - was meant to demonstrate their wealth and was what then gave its name to this historic meeting. 

King Henry VIII and Francis I can both be seen in full colour on the reverse of this 24-carat gold plated commemorative. The obverse is truly unique as it features a real ruby centred on a Tudor Rose.
