Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 100 Years of Canada Banknote

Introducing Canada’s first commemorative note with the late Her Majesty the Queen's portrait.

For the 100th anniversary of the process of the “Canadian Confederation”, which is considered the founding of the present country, the Bank of Canada issued the first commemorative banknote with a portrait of Elizabeth II in 1967.

As is customary for Canadian banknotes, the front side depicts Elizabeth without a crown. The back of the note shows Canada’s first parliament building in Ottawa.
