This incredibly rare banknote was not printed as usual, but minted from 23 carat gold foil with motifs of 999 silver. It is part of the world's only series of gold and silver banknotes, which was issued by the government of Antigua and Barbuda in 1988.
Strictly limited to 40,000 sets, the series includes 50 and 100 Dollars banknotes.
The front side of the note depicts a view of the port city of English Harbour in Antigua, a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the national coat of arms. The back side shows a scene from the era of pirates and treasure ships.
