Launched to coincide with the 100th anniversary of WW1 and to pay tribute to the brave and noble cavalry soldiers and their horses. The Cavalry were the first into battle in 1914 with their magnificent animals carrying the artillery and their resources. The weather conditions were horrendous and 8 million horses fell during the Great War.
This collectable piece features Remembrance Artist Jacqueline Hurley’s “For Heroes and Horses, The Poppies Grow” painting and is engraved with the poignant message “At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them, we will remember them”. The obverse of the commemorative features engraved red war poppies, distinctive of The War Poppy Collection.
