Redwood National Park is a protected area located in Northern California, United States. The park is home to some of the tallest trees in the world, including the coast redwoods, which can grow up to 379 feet (115 meters) tall.
The Chandelier Tree is a giant redwood tree and is one of several famous "drive-through" trees in California, where visitors can drive their cars through the trunk of a living tree. The tree stands at a height of 315 feet (96 meters) tall and is estimated to be over 2,400 years old. It is named for its unique shape, with multiple trunks extending from the base of the tree like the arms of a chandelier.
The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was established in 1968 to protect the remaining old-growth redwood forests that once covered much of the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the towering redwoods, the park is also home to a variety of plant and animal species, including Roosevelt elk, black bears, and bald eagles.
The park also has a rich cultural history, with several sites of significance to the area's indigenous communities, such as the Yurok and Tolowa Dee-ni' peoples.
