The Manx Grand Prix is a motorcycle road racing event that takes place on the Isle of Man and has been held since 1923, marking its 100 year anniversary in 2023.
The Manx Grand Prix is often referred to as the "Amateur TT" as it is open to amateur racers who compete on similar courses to those used in the Isle of Man TT races with riders tackling the challenging mountain roads at speeds of up to 200mph.. The event has been an important part of the Isle of Man's racing calendar for a century and has produced many notable riders who have gone on to compete in the TT races.
The complete stamp set 'Celebrating 100 Years of the Manx Grand Prix' is displayed in this eye catching, four page folder. The vibrant colours of the motorcycles and their riders pop against the classic black mount.
Within the presentation pack are eight stamps inserted within a clear acetate mounted on black card, and a brief history of the Manx Grand Prix and the images featured on the stamps.
The two photos used on the cover are the same as those used in David Wright's book, 100 Years of the Manx Grand Prix - Racing out of the Shadows.
